2 Corinthians 1:20 “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
Growing up, there were so many instances where some parents or loved ones promised us something that they never fulfilled. I remember one time in my life when my mum promised to go with me to visit her friend. I was so excited. She even asked me to go grab my shoes and come along, but by the time I got my shoes on, I saw her already out the door without me. When this happened I felt disappointed and cried. You may also have had a time when you were disappointed by a trusted person in your life.
The good news is that the God we serve keeps promises. We are being reminded through God’s word today that God’s promises for us are Yes and Amen. God never disappoints. All that God requires of us is to only believe and have faith as little as a mustard seed. God reminds us in Habakkuk 2:3 that ‘The vision is set for the appointed time but it will speak and it will not lie, though it tarries, wait for it because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
In this season we are in, I just want to remind us of Gods continuous reassurance concerning God’s promises for us and they are YES and AMEN!
