Day 27 of Lent- He will reign for ever and ever

  • by

Revelation 11:15 “The seventh angel sounded his trumpet and there were loud voices in heaven which said: The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and He will reign for ever and ever.”

It’s amazing how scripture takes on a different life when it’s sung.  When it’s part of one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, it crawls down in your bones and becomes part of you.  You probably recognize this as one of the primary lyrical themes of the Hallelujah Chorus. If you are a bass singer you’ve probably thundered along to the line “and he shall reign forever and ever.

Sometimes life seems like it’s crushing us.  Maybe someone you love has coved-19, or some part of your life has gone sideways.  These are times we might want to sing this part of Hallelujah Chorus.

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.” That is the promise we hold.
